Great Things to Talk About at Graham Elementary - Feb 3

1. Students and staff at GES raised $1500 for local families that lost their homes to fires over the holiday break. Many students emptied their own piggy banks and brought in large sums of change. It is great to see our kids be proactive and willing to help others in need.

2. Jump Rope for Heart: Thanks to Miss Roeth and Mr. Jacobs, our awesome Physical Education Teachers, for organizing a fantastic week of exercising fun during the day for all our kids. The kids have raised a lot of money and we will report on the total when we have a final count.

3. GES Awesome PTO: Thanks to all the support that our families that are involved with PTO give to the students and staff at GES. We could not do what we do without you.

4. Today is "Favorite Book Character Day" at GES and it is great to see so many students participating. The hallways are filled with many Harry Potters.

5. Our Preschool units just completed a week of Science and it was great to see our little scientist parading from room to room with excitement and anticipation of what they might learn today.

6. Thanks to all of our awesome Project MORE tutors who volunteer their time every week to help our students with their reading.

7. Our library staff of Mrs. Schlater, Mrs. Jefferies, and Mrs. Norris are completing the last day of our book fair. The ladies put in a lot of hard work to set this up. Thanks to all of our parents who have volunteered during book fair. It is great to see our kids excited about reading.

8. Our fifth graders raised $386 to help adopt a raptor at Glen Helen. Glen Helen supports various raptors that would not survive in the wild due to injuries and the 5th graders annually support the care of one of the raptors. Great Job, 5th Grade.

9. Mrs. Hunsberger's "Walk To Read" group performed a reader's theater play for students in her tiered reading group. It gave the students an opportunity to practice their expression and speak in front of an audience and it was a great time for everyone.
