Dear Families,

We hope that everyone is ready for an exciting 2011-2012 school year at Graham Elementary (GES). We have several new staff members here at GES who have been transferred from Graham Middle School (GMS).
Brenda Massie will be teaching fifth grade.
Amy Hegyi will be teaching fourth grade.
Emily Shreve will be teaching fifth Grade.
Katie Walker will be teaching fourth grade.

In addition to these new staff members, we also would like to welcome Adrienne James who will be replacing Zoe Faulkner as one of our Speech and Language Therapists.

Another change to GES is that we are reorganizing and running the building as one school rather than a K-2 side and a 3-5 side. We will work with all of our students, the staff, and our families this year and we feel this will help with communication and to better serve your children.

One exciting change that we feel will improve our communication is the incorporation of Google into our day to day operations. We are currently restructuring our website to incorporate a Google calendar into our homepage; however, we encourage all families to sign up for a free google account. Once you have a Google account, send Mr. Miller or Mr. Dillon an email with your new email account and we will invite you to have access to our GES Calendar where you can stay up to date on events and happenings at GES.

Open House will be next Monday and Tuesday night. On Monday night, Grades Kdg, 2nd, 4th, and Mrs. Sanders' class will have open house from 5:30-7:00. On Tuesday night, grades Preschool, 1st, 3rd, and 5th will have open house from 5:30-7:00. There will be an informational mtg at 7:00 for 5th grade families to receive info on the annual Glen Helen trip. Lastly, Mr. Miller and Mr. Dillon will be available in the cafeteria to meet for introductions and provide information regarding changes to the upcoming school year such as pick-up and drop-off procedures and to answer any other questions. In addition to this information, we will also be passing out information and directions for families to complete an online survey regarding Graham Elementary where we can gather information and input from families as to the direction that you would like to see Graham Elementary take as we make future plans.

Again, we are excited to get started and begin to build relationships with the families and community of Graham. We look forward to working with all families to continue to build upon the past successes of GES while meeting the growing challenges of developing our students and your children into tomorrow’s leaders. We feel fortunate to be a part of this great school system. To reach us, you may do so through email. Email Mr. Miller at millerc@grahamlocalschools.org and Mr. Dillon at dillonm@grahamlocalschools.org. We look forward to hearing from you.

Yours in Education,

Mr. Chad Miller Mr. Matt Dillon
