Graham Elementary School (GES) has achieved a rating of “Effective” on the 2010-11 Ohio Report Card! Students met 5 out of 8 State Indicators in reading, math and science. However, GES did not meet Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) Goals for all grades and has moved from School Improvement Delay to School Improvement 2.
This determination means GES did not meet Ohio’s goals in reading and mathematics for two or more years in a row. Your child’s school has been identified for improvement because it has not made Adequate Yearly Progress on Ohio’s Achievement Tests for at least three years in a row.
Because the school is in improvement status, we are required to offer your child the opportunity to attend a school that is not in School Improvement status and provide transportation should you select an alternate school. We hope that you will continue your child’s education at GES as we are continually striving to improve. However, you have the following choices of schools: Graham Digital Academy or the A.B. Graham Academy. Also, your child can receive extra help in reading and mathematics. You can receive Supplemental Educational Services (free tutoring) because your child’s school is in its second year or later of School Improvement, if your family meets the income limits under the law.
The local report card for the Graham Local Schools is available at http://ilrc.ode.state.oh.us/. The report card will show how well GES performed when compared with other schools.
